The ATC-510 was the first affordable flight simulator designed to improve pilot safety through rigorous instrument training.  Thousands of pilots have honed their IFR skills flying the ATC-510.  Shortly after its introduction the ATC-510 was lauded as a life-saving development in aeronautical safety and was featured in numerous aviation magazines in its day.   The device was recognized by pilots and aviation organizations for its ability to replicate the IFR experience from the safety of the pilot’s desktop. The Smithsonian Institute added an ATC-510 to their National Air and Space Museum collection to be preserved as an important development in general aviation history.
